A Familiar, Comforting Environment
For many, a coffee shop is a place to slow down: soft background music, gentle chatter, the smell of freshly ground beans, and warm, natural light. This kind of setting is ideal for camera shy people because it feels normal and lived-in, not like a performance space.
Rather than standing in front of a backdrop wondering what to do with your hands, you will:
-
Hold a mug, giving your hands something natural to do
-
Sit comfortably at a table, by a window, or in a cosy corner
-
Engage in simple movements and activities (stirring your drink, reading, typing, talking)
This helps you forget about the camera and simply be yourself, which is exactly what creates natural, relaxed photos.
My next session is at Stockbridge’s most beautiful cafe, Meadow. Located on the river Test and offering really good food and coffee!
